“I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate.” ~ Julia Child
Welcome to my new food blog! Since I tend to be cooking and baking quite often nowadays, I thought it would be fun to start a food blog to document and share my favorite and new recipes!
Like Julia Child, before I began cooking, I just ate, and while I helped my family make dinner every night and always helped with holiday meals (my dad started my sister and I chopping Thanksgiving veggies at a young age- step stools were needed!), cooking really wasn't my thing, school was. But now that I am older with a little more time on my hands and no mommy or daddy to cook dinner for me every night, I am really enjoying getting more involved in the kitchen. I try to bake something new every weekend and I try to include one new meal each week for dinner as well as build up our menu of dinner favorites. Aaron and I tend to get into modes where we eat the same things every week for dinner and then get sick of them so this is my way of ensuring that it doesn't happen on my watch. It's also a way for me to ensure that our future children will have only the best of our favorites, without having to experience any of the dreaded usuals I had to go through as a child (soy sauce stir-fry... yuck!). No offense, Dad ;)
So, I guess I can say-- I was 24 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate...
